  • How soon after installation can I seal my grout and stone with Gundlach Sealers?
    With Nos. GS02, GS03 & GS04 (solvent based sealers) you can seal Damp, Uncured Grout immediately after installation. With Nos. GW10 and GW11 (water based sealers) you can seal 6 hours after installation.

  • Can I seal existing grout with Gundlach Sealers?
    YES! Gundlach Products work just as well on existing grout. We recommend cleaning the existing grout first with No. GC20 Grout & Tile Cleaner.

  • How do I apply Gundlach Products to my floor and grout?
    You can use No. GS02 for sealing floor grout and vertical surfaces like shower walls or back splashes. No. GS02 is easily applied using the No. SM12 Applicator Gun to seal your grout lines. Liquid Sealers are best applied with a garden type sprayer and full sprayed over the entire surface.

  • Is over spray on the tile a problem with Gundlach Products?
    NO! The sealer will dry with no visible or hard to remove residue.

  • Do Gundlach Sealers change the color of grout or stone?
    NO! They penetrate and dry invisible. *Except for the Color Enhancer (Solvent Based and Water Based) and Gloss & Seal.

  • Will it ever turn yellow or crack and peel?
    NO! Gundlach Products will not yellow and since they are penetrating sealers they do not crack or peel.

  • Does using Gundlach Sealers on fresh, damp grout affect its ability to properly cure?
    NO! Using Gundlach Sealers on fresh, damp grout will not affect the curing process of the sealer and will actually improve the curing process of the grout when used as directed.

  • How soon can I walk on my floor after sealing with Gundlach Products?
    The solvent based sealers dry between 15 - 30 minutes and the water based sealers dry as fast as water. We recommend staying off the floor for at least 1 hour whenever possible.

  • What's the difference between the dry time and the cure time of the sealer?
    Dry time is the time needed for the sealer to physically dry. Cure time is the time needed for the sealer to chemically bond to the substrate (Approximately 24 - 48 hours).

  • How soon will I get protection on my floor and grout?
    Maximum stain protection is achieved when the grout is fully cured (24 - 48 hours), but you will get protection as soon as the sealer dries.

  • How many coats should I apply?
    We always recommend a second coat after the first coat dries to ensure full coverage.

  • When using Gundlach Products, is it important to ventilate the area?
    YES! Proper ventilation is very important when using solvent based Gundlach Products. We recommend opening several windows and/or doors using fans to help ventilate the area until dry (about 1 hour). Also, the use of a NIOSH Approved respirator is recommended in areas with poor ventilation. See the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for further information at www.benojgundlachco.com.

  • How do I care for my grout, tile or stone?
    For routine cleaning and mopping use No. GC24 pH Neutral Cleaner which neutralizes the chemicals in your water and dries streak free. For cleaning of stains or spills, use No. GC20 Grout & Tile Cleaner on ceramic tile and grout. For polished or porous natural stone use No. GC22 Natural Stone Cleaner.

  • How do I protect and maintain my granite countertops?
    Using the No. GC26 Granite Countertop Wipes everyday use will clean and seal granite countertops.

  • How often do I have to reseal?
    Depending on traffic re-apply every 1 - 2 years, Gundlach Products ensures beauty and longevity. After cleaning spills and stains always reseal area.

  • What are V O C's?
    Volatile Organic Compounds are known to deplete the earth's ozone layer. All Gundlach Products have low, or no V O C's, and meet all established regulations.

  • When would I use water based sealers?
    When odor or flammability is a concern and if an area has little ventilation or remains occupied, or on a very porous substrate.

  • Can I darken my stone or grout with Gundlach Products?
    YES! The Nos. GS05 and GS06 (Solvent Based) and GW14 and GW15 (Water Based) Color Enhancer is designed to intensify the natural colors and give "depth" to the stone while also protecting the stone against staining.

  • Do any Gundlach Sealers protect against ultraviolet (UV) rays?
    YES! Gundlach Products protect against color fading from ultraviolet (UV) rays.

  • Will Gundlach Sealers seal in grout haze?
    NO! Gundlach Sealers will penetrate through the grout haze into the grout and/or stone. Except for No. GW19 Gloss & Seal (topical).
